Terms and Conditions

Applies to all users of WebTaPlus, WebTa Publishing, and iJournalPro

By accessing or using any part of the WebTaPlus ecosystem—including our websites, platforms, and publishing services—you (“you,” “user,” or “client”) agree to these Terms and Conditions, as well as our Privacy Policy. Please read them carefully before using our services.

1. Scope of Services

WebTaPlus AB provides a comprehensive range of academic publishing and technology services, including but not limited to:

  • Online journal management via iJournalPro
  • Custom journal website design and hosting
  • Peer review workflow setup and editorial tools
  • XML production (JATS, PMC), typesetting, and copyediting
  • DOI registration and Crossref integration
  • Plagiarism screening (e.g., iThenticate)
  • Migration of journal archives and onboarding
  • Indexing consultancy (DOAJ, Scopus, Web of Science, PMC)
  • Usage analytics and reporting
  • Payment and APC gateway setup

2. User Accounts and Responsibilities

You are responsible for all activity associated with your account(s). You agree to:

  • Provide accurate, complete information
  • Maintain the confidentiality of login credentials
  • Notify us of unauthorized access or suspicious activity

WebTaPlus reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts found to violate these terms.

3. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree not to:

  • Upload malicious code or engage in cyberattacks
  • Interfere with system performance or access infrastructure
  • Reverse-engineer or replicate our software/platform
  • Harvest or misuse personal data
  • Violate laws, intellectual property rights, or publish unlawful content

Violation may result in immediate termination, removal of content, or legal action.

4. Export and Compliance Regulations

You must comply with all applicable export control laws and economic sanctions. WebTaPlus services may not be used in connection with restricted countries or prohibited end users.

5. Intellectual Property

  • All published journal content remains the property of its respective authors and editors.
  • WebTaPlus AB retains ownership of all proprietary software, platforms (e.g., iJournalPro), and related tools.
  • You may not copy, redistribute, or repurpose any part of the system without written permission.

Our platform may include links or integrations with third-party tools. These are provided for convenience only, and WebTaPlus is not responsible for their content, performance, or privacy practices.

7. Fees and Billing

  • Fees are outlined in your individual agreement or service plan.
  • Services such as Crossref or iThenticate may incur additional charges.
  • Invoices include applicable taxes and due dates.
  • Late payments may be subject to interest (up to 2% per month or as permitted by law).

8. Refund Policy

All subscriptions and services are prepaid (monthly or annually). Refunds are not issued for early cancellations. Clients are responsible for exporting their data prior to termination.

9. Termination of Service

This agreement may be terminated by either party with 15 business days’ written notice. Immediate termination may occur due to:

  • Unresolved material breach (after 30 days)
  • Repeated non-payment (3 or more times in a 12-month period)
  • Legal violations or system abuse

Upon termination, user access will be disabled, and clients have 30 calendar days to export their data.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless WebTaPlus AB and its affiliates from any claims, damages, or legal costs arising from your use of the services or violation of these terms.

11. Limitation of Liability

WebTaPlus is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Our maximum liability is limited to the amount paid by the client in the 12 months preceding the claim.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed under the laws of Sweden. Any dispute will first be resolved amicably. If unresolved, both parties agree to submit the matter to a competent Swedish court.
